Principal’s Christmas Message
As we are approaching Christmas break, I would like to thank students, staff, and parents for contributing to the Locust Elementary School community that we are all so proud to be a part of. We have had an outstanding start to the school year with many opportunities for our wonderful students to demonstrate their academic skills, talents and passions. Thank you to all of the Locust staff members who have made these opportunities possible.
We hope parents will take this seasonal break to spend quality time with their children and to continue to enhance their educational skills and opportunities. I want to encourage all parents to stay connected with the school through our various social media outlets and information releases. We know that your involvement has a positive impact on student learning and well-being.
We would also like to thank the voters of Stanly County for providing for the passage of the recent ¼ cent sales tax. Locust Elementary School is looking forward to enhancing our front office visitor management system with Lobby Guard and also seeing more complete camera coverage of our buildings and campus. With the addition of Officer Tucker, our School Resource Officer stationed at our school, these enhancements will help us provide our stakeholders with a more positive and safe experience.
Lastly, I would like to thank our students for the tremendous effort that they give us each day in all of our classes. School wide discipline is down thus far, as well as student absences. We are looking forward to the upcoming Locust Spelling Bee and the PTA Boosterthon Fun Run. Wonderful things are happening each day at our school and we are proud of our students, parents and staff that help make these things happen.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
David Grice, Principal
