Important School Closure Update

In response to the Announcement to Close Schools for two weeks made in a press conference by Gov. Roy Cooper and NC Superintendent Mark Johnson, our leadership is meeting with state officials tomorrow, Sunday, March 15, 2020, in an online session. Once we have additional information we will be communicating our meal plans, lessons for K -5, and virtual learning for 6-12. Our hopes are to release this information by 5 pm, providing the state has solidified plans. Of course, employee information, we hope, will be clarified after our session and we can communicate this as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we handle this pandemic situation. This is a first for all of us. You can be confident that our key community leaders have been in constant contact to ensure a unified response. Please rely on official announcements on the SCS website and social media.
